Cathedral Cove

Accessible only on foot, boat or kayak, famous Cathedral Cove is one of the “must visit” sites on The Coromandel.
There are several scenic tracks on land adjacent to the reserve, including the 2hr return walk to Cathedral Cove track, which gives access to Gemstone Bay, Mares Leg and Cathedral Cove.
The Pinnacles
This popular walk leads to Pinnacles Hut, and on to the summit of the Pinnacles with spectacular views of the Coromandel Peninsula. It can be completed as a day or overnight walk.

One of the most popular locations to visit on The Coromandel. A short drive from Thames allowing you to enjoy the stunning beach for the day. If you are feeling adventurous, The Pauanui Summit Track is a great trail which has incredible views looking back down over Pauanui Beach.
Whangamata
Whangamata is a beautiful small beach town, located just an hour away from Thames. Known for their stunning beach and surfing. A perfect day out for a walk along the beach and lunch at a local cafe.
Cathedral Cove Kayak Tour

Driving Creek Railway
